Thus, the logic of the feminist argument to “Teach men not to rape” is revealed.

Yes because it’s such a radical notion to expect rapists to control themselves.

Uh, we do tell thieves not to rob, though. We actually spend a lot of energy teaching kids that stealing is wrong. We keep trying to teach them it’s wrong through their teens and adult years.
And when someone gets robbed? Cops don’t ask them if their front door was locked. They don’t ask them if they invited the thief into their house and maybe said the thief was free to take things before changing their mind the next day. And this is true even though sometimes people do get robbed by folks they invite in under false pretenses.
Cops and lawyers and judges don’t work together to make people who get robbed feel like shit for not installing extra security systems or putting bars on their windows. They don’t use people’s former history of inviting neighbors in and letting them borrow stuff to argue that they had no right to expect someone to respect their property. The media doesn’t talk about how the thief’s promising life was ruined by their victim’s decision to prosecute.
Your metaphor is bad and you should feel bad.

At the end of things, the issue is not just the necessity for better education, it’s the necessity for justice to be delivered when that education fails.

"Your metaphor is bad and you should feel bad." Hahahaha

Gordon Ramsay doesn’t care about your gender, race, or creed. All he cares about is that you can cook.

The contestant, Christine, is blind, and he lets her know exactly what he thinks of her dish.

OMG I was preparing myself to be enraged by him making some horrible comment but now I’m crying in Starbucks GOD DAMMIT

Christ I am not okay with these fEELINGS

IM BAWLING

That’s so cute I wanna cry

Is there a Gordon Ramsay fan base on this site??? And where can i join???

Spoilers, she won. Her cookbook is on sale now.

Also, this is the very first apple pie she ever made.

Also, can we please take notice OF HOW HE DESCRIBES IT FOR HER? Ramsay was extremely conscious during the entire season that she would require different tactics than the other contestants; this was not the only time he became her eyes, nor the only time he did things like that scrape of the knife so she could actually have a sense of her work.

And if you really want to bawl like a baby? During final four or final three, I forget which, the remaining contestants got photos from home. Christine’s husband sent their wedding photo—which she had never seen. Ramsay paused before starting the challenge to describe to her not only her husband—the look of love and joy on his face—but also herself as a bride, so she could see in her mind how the two of them looked together on their wedding day.

It was extremely obvious nobody had ever thought to do that before.

This man should be a fucking icon not just for his cooking, but for how he treats those who are different. During the same season he asked a handsome young man, making conversation during auditions, if he had a girlfriend. The man responded that he was gay. Ramsay, without missing a beat: “I’m sorry. Have you got a boyfriend, then?” No drama, no “oh my GOSH! You’re GAY? TOKEN CHARACTER :DDDD” just a very quick, simple whoops-my-mistake and the corrected inquiry. And then he never brought it up again! It was just a thing he learned, getting to know a contestant.

Yes, he can be harsh on MasterChef and downright cruel on Hell’s Kitchen (although if you were a sous chef and you served me raw pork that was not pork tartare, I’d scream too). But he’s not an ogre; he’s a polite man with a gigantic heart who simply happens to take no shit from those who should know better.

I am not crying, I just got apple pie in my eye

Welp. The Ferguson riots are doomed... FCKH8 just got involved, now selling T-shirts for "Charity to help the people of Ferguson" which probably means they just jumped a bandwagon to make money selling expensive shit.

colorsofsocialjustice answered:

It’s not over yet. But please guys, do not support FCKH8! They’re using the Ferguson protest for profit. This is the same organization that denies asexuality and pansexuality. They don’t care about justice, just money.

Sooooo….the top left.
You’ve got to be SHITTING me.
Let me get this straight: somebody can say tons of racist and homophobic shit and still get crowned one of the most “Influential” teens of 2014 by Time Magazine?
Is that a message we’re trying to send out to America’s youth? “You can be a huge cunt and offend a lot of people, but who cares?! Here’s a prize for your douchebaggery!”
Regardless of how many followers he has on Vine, I don’t think a bigot deserves this title.

Want to know why he’s on the list?
Because each day he has to put up with people like you that constantly bring him down. Can you believe that? He’s a 16 year old who has made one mistake and he has millions like you telling him to die and calling him crash, his response? He tries not to let it get to him, even though he’s had a history of depression. You people literally drove him to delete his tumblr.
THE SAME PEOPLE that are so against bullying and critize a person for making mistakes in their past. You may ask why I said one mistake and not two? Sure it was offensive when he yelled fag in a video following an AIDS commercial, but guess what he has apologized so many times and he had put down the video. He’s tried so hard to prove he is genuinely sorry. Then he made a video in which he stated HIS PREFERENCE.
I find it so fucking insane that people are literally telling him to die and calling him a sexist for saying that HE doesn’t like body hair on women. NEWSFLASH HUNNY MILLIONS OF MEN AND WOMEN AGREE WITH HIM, SO SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE FULL OR IGNORANCE BUT ITS TRUE. I don’t like guys with fucking mustaches, so what? Are you going to push me to delete my tumblr and constantly make threats?

Okay, I can understand if you like him and want to defend him but one mistake? Let’s go down the list, shall we?
(In No Particular Order)
1. What Guys Look For In Girls: A video, which, by the title, would imply all guys are like this. This video wouldn’t have been so upsetting if it wasn’t someone with this much power. This guy has millions of people, mostly young, teenage girls, who watch his videos and now feel bad about themselves. I could go into more detail, but literally everything I could say is in this video by TheThirdPew who is only a year older than Nash. I suggest you watch it.

2. Use of homophobic and racist statements on twitter: This is a biggie. A lot of these tweets have since been deleted but he still made them. I don’t really think this one needs an explanation. Not to mention the horrible grammar in some of them, but hey I’m not Jack Douglass.

3. The HIV Vine: If you don’t know about this, this is a vine he made from an advertisement raising awareness for HIV Testing, where it’s stated ‘it’s not a gay thing!’ and cuts into a clip of him saying, ‘yes it is, f*g!’ Which again, shouldn’t need an explanation. The vine has been taken down, but I think you can still find it reposted on a bunch of places, such as Tyler Oakley’s twitter.

I could go on, but these are the three biggest things that come to mind. Now, I’m not saying he’s a bad person. You know, I think there’s good in everybody (10 points if you got that reference). It’s just the fact that he has all of this power, and he’s using it to spread hate.
'But he's only 16 and has a lot of pressure on him!'
Are you freaking kidding me?
No doubt about it, he has pressure on him, but let’s look at another person on the list: Malala.
She literally got shot in the head for trying to go to school. There’s a lot of people who want her dead in the world, and unlike the 'millions like you telling him to die and calling him crash' (A direct quote from the above statement). These people actually have the ability to kill her. And she knows that. But she’s spreading her message, and that message doesn’t have to do with freaking shaving your legs.
I’m not trying to compare him to Malala in any way. She’s an activist and he’s a viner. But he has so much potential to be doing something good, I mean, and it’s not like it’s impossible. Other YouTubers and viners have done plenty of things…off the top of my head:
1. Tyler Oakley has raised over $500,000 for The Trevor Project for suicidal teenagers. (Donate here: x)
2. Connor Franta has raised over $230,000 for The Thirst Project. The money will be used to build wells in Africa.
And in non monetary ways, many YouTubers have made videos about body positivity, mental disorders, and other heavy issues in an effort to make people feel better about themselves (ie. Shane Dawson’s videos about eating disorders, suicide, etc., Emma Blackery’s music video about how you matter, all those O2L videos saying how pretty and great you are, etc etc…)
As for ‘oh but he apologized.’
Don’t even.
What he did was hardly an apology. He literally wrote tweets slightly over the character limit, saying (a direct quote from one of the tweets) 'I was young and stupid'
Okay, first of all, that’s something you say 20 years after something happens and you actually have time to reflect on how bad the thing was, not less than 6 months later.
Secondly, if he really cared he would have addressed it more directly.
if he really cared he would have addressed it more directly.
if he really cared he would have addressed it more directly.
if he really cared he would have addressed it more directly.
I don’t know how many times I can say it. If you are genuinely sorry about something, you’re not going to make a little tiny tweet about it, post it long enough for someone to screenshot it, and then delete it.
Example? Shane Dawson. Notorious for offensive videos, arguably worst of all: Black Facing.

What Shane did was completely wrong. But, the way he addressed the issue was very mature of him and much more than a little tweet. You can watch his apology video here: x. This is how an apology is meant to be. He doesn’t try to justify what he did in any way. He acknowledges that he was ignorant and deleted every single video that included that type of offensive material. He even tried removing ads on that video so people would realize he wasn’t trying to make a quick buck off of it.

So, in short: STOP TRYING TO TURN THIS FREAKING LITTLE SHIT INTO A MARTYR. HE IS NOT A MARTYR.
HE IS A TEENAGE BOY WHO NEEDS TO TAKE A STEP BACK, REALIZE HOW POPULAR HE IS, STEP BACK, AND BE A BETTER PERSON.
HE LITERALLY IS ONE OF THE 25 MOST INFLUENTIAL TEENS HE REALLY NEEDS TO REALIZE HOW FREAKING POPULAR HE IS GOODNESS GRACIANYAS.

socialjusticekoolaid:

Last Night in Ferguson (10.21.14): A state senator was arrested (and mama may have been legally packing), one of the lead organizers, nettaaaaaaaa, was roughed up by police, and one of the main sources of footage/live feeds, Rebel Z, was detained in what seems to have been an intimidation and straight up harassment tactic. The police are out of control, and it’s only getting worse. If you think this is over, you need to look again. #staywoke #farfromover

Ferguson is still happening. Are you still paying attention?

Tune into Z’s UStream tonight to watch developments live.
